[SBS Entertainment News | Reporter Jihye Kim] Netflix series 'Squid Game' season 3 has successfully concluded its finale event.

'Squid Game' Season 3 is the story of 'Ki-hoon' who lost his best friend in the game he re-entered with his own purpose, 'Frontman' who hid his identity and hid in the game, and the final fate of the participants who survived the cruel game. Since its release on the 27th, it has risen to No. 1 in the global Netflix TV show category, heralding another syndrome following Seasons 1 and 2.

Following the enthusiastic response, the '2025 K-Content Seoul Travel Week 'Squid Game' Parade' and finale fan event, co-hosted by Netflix and the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 28th, ended in a heated atmosphere with the main characters of the 'Squid Game' series participating.

First, the parade that continued from Gwanghwamun Square to Seoul Plaza was comprised of symbolic icons representing the 'Squid Game', captivating the eyes and ears of fans with colorful performances and spectacular sights. From a giant game invitation with ○△□ drawn on it to iconic sculptures such as a pink pipe, piggy bank, dalgona balloon, and carousel, as well as the finale performance of the Pink Guard Marching Band, the parade procession heated up the scene. A media façade with the concept of 'Squid Game' was displayed on the outer wall of the Seoul Library, adding a special touch to the parade with its unique performance.

Here, at Seoul Plaza, a photo zone and experience zone were set up where fans can directly participate, such as the rope jump game between 'Younghee' and 'Cheolsu' and the Ttakjiman game, and a special space was also created where they can vividly experience the world of 'Squid Game'.

At the fan event, director Hwang Dong-hyuk, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-joon, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Jo Yu-ri, Chae Kook-hee, Lee Da-wit, Noh Jae-won, Jeon Seok-ho, as well as Choi Seung-hyun, Lee Seo-hwan, Won Ji-an, Kim Beop-rae, Kim Si-eun from Season 2, and Park Hae-soo, Jung Ho-yeon, Kim Joo-ryeong, Anupam Tripathi, and Lee Yoo-mi from Season 1, all came out and shared a special time with fans.

Here, class photos taken to commemorate this special moment where all the actors from the series gathered together were also released, drawing attention. The photos, which contain all the main characters who led 'Squid Game', bring back memories of the memorable characters from each season and leave a deep impression on fans.

The fan event livened up the atmosphere when the actors appeared to the acapella of 'Squid Game's' representative OST 'Way Back Then'. Afterwards, the actors announced the start of the fan event by briefly sharing their thoughts with the fans through interviews. The 'Fans' Pick of <Squid Game>!' corner that followed had time to communicate with the actors and fans. When asked about the game from 'Squid Game' that they would be able to survive the best if they were a contestant, the witty answers from the fans on site and the actors' cheerful reactions and empathy heated up the scene.

Additionally, a tribute video looking back on the journey of 'Squid Game' from Season 1 to Season 3 was released, providing a special time to look back on the passionate love and touching moments received from fans around the world.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said, "I would like to say thank you so much to the fans who came here, the fans around the world who watched the film, and the fans in Korea. I feel like I've received so much love. Thank you so much for everything." Lee Jung-jae said, "I've made many memories with the director, and I still think of many memorable scenes with the actors. Thank you for supporting and loving 'Squid Game'. It finally feels like the finale." Lee Byung-hun said, "I think this film has become a phenomenon that has left a big mark on the history of our country's film culture. It was meaningful and an honor for me to be able to participate in such a film." He expressed his gratitude and thoughts to the fans who participated in the finale event.

Park Hae-soo of Season 1 said, "I am so touched and grateful. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the actors who made the world tense, cry, and be moved throughout Seasons 1, 2, and 3." Jung Ho-yeon added to the emotion by conveying her heartfelt feelings, saying, "I sincerely thank the audience who came in large numbers in this hot weather. I ask for your continued support for Season 3 of 'Squid Game.'"

Meanwhile, the 'Squid Game' finale event is another surprise, just from the parade to the scale of the fan event. This event was completed after a preparation period of approximately 348 days starting in July 2024, and a total of 456 staff members were deployed, making the scale of the event feel enormous just from the numbers.

The experience zone set up in Seoul Plaza was composed of a total of 10 themes symbolizing the 'Squid Game', such as Ttakjiman, merry-go-round, and rope jumping, and captivated the five senses of fans. The parade, which lasted 1.2 km, featured a whopping 7.5 m tall 'Younghee', drawing attention. Approximately 38,000 fans watched the parade, and about 9,000 people flocked to the fan event site. The online live broadcast recorded 4.4 million views in just 2 hours after it began, once again proving the hot interest and popularity of 'Squid Game' around the world.
