[talk] 7 consecutive #1s on Billboard 200

Stray Kids has set a record for the first time in the 70-year history of Billboard 200.
Their 4th album, Karma, released on the 22nd, ranked #1 on Billboard 200... for a whopping 7 consecutive times!!
The article says September 6th, so that's probably a typo??? It's not like it's about something in the future, lol
They say this is a record that surpasses BTS's 6th #1... Wow~~~
It feels new to hear that they beat K-Pop Demon Hunters to take first place.
I'm proud of you!! K-idols!!!

[SPOTV News=Reporter Jang Jin-ri] Group Stray Kids has set a record for the first time in the 70-year history of the Billboard 200 chart with their new album 'Karma'.

According to a preview article released by Billboard on August 31st (local time), Stray Kids' 4th full-length album 'Karma', released on the 22nd, ranked 1st on the 'Billboard 200' on September 6th.

Stray Kids, who sold approximately 313,000 copies in the US in the first week of release, became the seventh group to reach number one on the Billboard 200. Notably, Stray Kids became the first artist in the world to have seven consecutive albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200 since its 70-year history, which began in March 1956.

Stray Kids, who first reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their 2022 mini-album 'Ordinary', went on to have six consecutive albums reach No. 1, including 'Maxident', '★★★★★ (Five Star)', 'Rockstar', 'Eight', and 'Skid's Hop Hip-Tape-Hop'.

Stray Kids, who had topped the Billboard 200 for six consecutive times at the time, became the group with the most number one hits on the Billboard 200 in the 2000s along with BTS, Linkin Park, and Dave Matthews Band. With "Karma," they achieved their seventh consecutive number one, becoming the sole No. 1 group in this category.

In particular, Stray Kids also broke their own first-week sales record in the US with "Karma." This figure represents an increase of approximately 63,500 copies compared to the previous record of 249,500 copies sold by their third full-length album "Five Star" released in 2023. This is the highest first-week sales in the US for a K-pop album released in 2025, and the third highest among all artists, following Morgan Wallen and The Weeknd.

They also achieved strong results on the UK Official Charts, one of the world's top three music charts. "Karma" reached its highest ranking of 22nd on the latest "Official Albums Chart Top 100," and the title track "Ceremony" debuted at 37th on the "Official Singles Chart Top 100."

Here, 'Karma' was ranked 1st on the latest Top Albums chart released by the French National Phonographic Society (SNEP) and the German Official Top 100 Albums chart, and 3rd on the Dutch Top 100 Albums chart, 3rd on the Swedish Top 60 Albums chart, 4th on the Australian ARIA Top 50 Albums chart, 7th on the New Zealand Official Aotearoa Top 40 Albums chart, and 9th on the Lithuanian AGATA Top 100 Albums chart, showing their presence on various overseas music charts.

Stray Kids has also received the double blessing of being nominated for an award at the American popular music awards show 'MTV VMAs'. According to a recent announcement on the 'MTV VMAs' official SNS channel, Stray Kids has been nominated in the 'Best Group' category. This is the first time Stray Kids has been nominated for 'Best Group'. Following the announcement on the 5th that they were nominated in the 'Best K-Pop' category for the 4th consecutive year with 'Chichik Boom', they have now been nominated for a total of two categories at the '2025 MTV VMAs'.

Stray Kids swept the first place trophies on domestic music shows in the last week of August with their new song "Ceremony" on Mnet's "M Countdown" on the 28th, KBS 2TV's "Music Bank" on the 29th, MBC's "Show! Music Core" on the 30th, and SBS's "Inkigayo" on the 31st, demonstrating their status as "K-pop champions."
