Suzy, who is receiving rave reviews for her acting these days, and actor Kim Seon-ho, who I really like, are together.
The drama "Dazzling" is a work I'm really looking forward to.
It is said that the filming on location in China in early October was completely canceled.
There seems to be a controversy over whether it's because of Jeon Ji-hyun's lines in the drama Polaris.
It looks like they are currently filming domestically and looking for other locations;;;
Anyway.........China.........is a bit;;;
[OSEN=Reporter Ha Su-jeong] The new Disney+ series 'Hypocrisy' has been canceled ahead of Suzy and Kim Seon-ho's filming in China, drawing attention to the reason behind the cancellation.
According to an OSEN report on the 15th, the production team for the new Disney+ series "Hypocrisy" had planned to film in China in early to mid-October, but all locations were ultimately canceled, resulting in the lead actors focusing on filming in Korea. While Shanghai, China, was featured as the drama's actual backdrop, filming was canceled just before filming, leaving Suzy and Kim Seon-ho unable to leave the country and currently staying in Korea.
Some in the industry have raised suspicions that this is due to the recent controversy surrounding Jun Ji-hyun's lines in Disney+'s "North Star." Recently, lines from the main character Seo Moon-joo (played by Jun Ji-hyun) sparked a backlash from Chinese netizens. While explaining the various benefits of international relations surrounding the war clouds over the Korean Peninsula, Seo Moon-joo said, "Why would China prefer war? A nuclear bomb could fall on the border area." Some have complained that this creates a distorted perception of China. On the other hand, there were reactions in Korea that it was excessive to make an issue of a fictional setting in a drama that was not even a real situation.
In particular, fierce criticism erupted from Chinese netizens, and some even called for a boycott of Jun Ji-hyun. In the aftermath, suspicions were raised that advertisements featuring Jun Ji-hyun, including cosmetics and watches, had been canceled. However, Jun Ji-hyun's agency denied the boycott allegations, stating that they were "groundless."
In this atmosphere, various speculations have been circulating since the location shoot in China was canceled. Regarding this, a representative from the production company of "Hyunhok" told OSEN, "China was indeed a candidate for the location. It is true that filming in China was considered for some part," but expressed a cautious stance, saying, "The location has not been completely decided yet, as it is a part that is fluidly decided depending on the project's condition and filming environment."
While the 'dazzling' actors, including Suzy and Kim Seon-ho, are filming their domestic parts, the production team is reportedly looking for locations in other countries, including Vietnam.
Meanwhile, "Hyunho" is set in Gyeongseong in 1935 and tells the story of painter Yoon I-ho (played by Kim Seon-ho), who is entrusted with painting a portrait of a mysterious woman, Song Jeong-hwa (played by Suzy), and how he approaches her secrets. Director Han Jae-rim, who directed "Elegant World," "The Face Reader," "The King," and "Emergency Declaration," is set to release in 2026.
