'Seven O'Clock Breakfast Meeting for the Broken Hearted' is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Baek Young-ok, first published in 2012. The novel was republished in 2017 under the title Seven O'Clock Breakfast Meeting for the Broken Hearted, but the film is said to follow the title it was first published under.

The original depicts the process in which people gather at a restaurant with a sign that says, "Seven O'Clock Breakfast Meeting for the Broken Hearted," exchange mementos of their broken hearts, share their stories, communicate, heal their wounds, and form new relationships.

Suzy is expected to show a completely different atmosphere from her previous works by playing the role of Yoon Sa-kang, a woman who has been wounded by childhood and fatal love. According to an insider, Suzy read the original novel and was captivated by it, so she positively reviewed her participation in the work early on.
