Man in his 30s files suit… Police investigate whether drug use occurred
The Yongsan Police Department in Seoul announced on the 25th that it had booked actor Yoo Ah-in (38, real name Um Hong-sik) on charges of same-sex sexual assault. Yoo is accused of sexually assaulting a man, A (30), who was sleeping in an officetel in Yongsan-gu on the 14th. Under current law, same-sex sexual assault is subject to the crime of quasi-rape.
Person A was sleeping in this officetel from 6 AM to 4 PM on the day of the incident, and it is known that she woke up and realized that she had been sexually assaulted, and filed a complaint with the police the next day. The officetel in question was the residence of a third party, not Person A or Person Yoo, and it is said that there were other men at the scene at the time of the incident. The police are also investigating the possibility that Person Yoo, who is on trial for habitual drug use, committed the crime while under the influence of drugs that day.
