This achievement is particularly significant in that it was achieved solely by Korean solo artist Jimin, without any special collaboration with famous Western artists, especially on the US charts. The Spotify US chart has the largest number of users worldwide, making it a very competitive stage.
'Who's' 270-day consecutive entry record is the second longest record in K-pop history, following BTS's 'Dynamite', and has been on the chart for 273 days as of April 17.
Following "Like Crazy" and "Who," Jimin has continued to lead the US market with successive hits, becoming the first and only K-pop solo artist to surpass 500 million total streams (filtered streams) on Spotify's US chart. Spotify's streaming figures are calculated excluding infinite plays, which makes them even more meaningful.
Jimin also received a hot response locally, to the point that a new word, "Jimmerica" (Jimin + America), was created. He previously topped Billboard's main single chart, "Hot 100," with "Like Crazy," becoming the first Korean solo artist to do so, and with "Who," he set another record by staying on Billboard's "Hot 100" for the longest consecutive 33 weeks as a K-pop song.
