[All] RM and Jimin nominated for 'Favorite K-Pop Artist' as individuals, not as BTS

According to the recent ' American Music Awards ' website, RM and Jimin

They were nominated together in the ' Favorite K -Pop Artist' category .

This is the first time that the two have competed for an American Music Award as solo artists .

BTS was previously named the first winner in the same category in 2022 .

At the time, they won ' Favorite Pop Duo or Group ' , taking home a total of two awards .

BTS became the first Korean singer to perform at the 2017 American Music Awards . They then made history in 2018 by winning Favorite Social Artist . In 2019 , they won three awards : Favorite Social Artist, Favorite Pop Duo/Group, and Tour of the Year. In 2020 , they won two categories: Favorite Social Artist and Favorite Pop Duo / Group . In 2021 , they took home the grand prize , Artist of the Year, as well as Favorite Pop Duo / Group and Favorite Pop Song .

The American Music Awards is an awards show that honors the most influential and iconic artists of the year .

It is considered one of the top three music award ceremonies in the United States, along with the Billboard Music Awards and the Grammy Awards .

This year's ' American Music Awards ' will be held in Los Angeles, USA on May 26th at 5 PM .
