It is said that the director of Severance Hospital was also moved by the sugar donation.

Professor Chun Geun-ah of the Department of Pediatrics at Seoul Severance Hospital expressed her gratitude to BTS' Suga (real name Min Yoon-gi) for donating 5 billion won to establish the 'Min Yoon-gi Treatment Center.'

Professor Chun appeared on Severance Hospital's YouTube channel on the 24th and said, "Sugar first came to me in November last year and showed a deep interest in pediatric and adolescent mental health and autism spectrum disorder treatment," and "He read a significant portion of the 500-page textbook I wrote."

While doing so, he said, "I was surprised by how deep and sharp the questions were," and "(Suga) said that we can no longer ignore the fact that the number one cause of death among youth in our country is suicide," sharing the story behind the donation.

It has been reported that Suga has been participating in the development of the program since March, using weekends to meet children with autism spectrum disorder in person and teach them how to play musical instruments.

Professor Chun said, "Sugar was never late during the entire program preparation and execution process," and "(Thanks to Sugar) the children got to experience words and music coming together."

He continued, “Sugar is also interested in the continued development of the center and expressed his intention to continue to provide support,” adding, “We plan to gradually expand and advance the center’s functions.”

Donating 5 billion won is a really hard amount for an individual to do, and even conglomerates don't donate that much money out of their own pockets. In the case of celebrities who donate a lot, they make large donations by holding sponsorship events, but I think donating 5 billion won out of their own pockets is a really difficult decision, and it's something that deserves applause. It didn't end with the donation, but the fact that they participated in a music program also makes you feel their sincerity.
