[Sports Seoul | Reporter Bae Woo-geun] BTS' Jungkook has once again shaken up the global music market. His self-composed song 'Never Let Go' has surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest streaming platform, becoming his 9th individual song to reach 200 million streams.

Despite being a tribute song to his fans, "Never Let Go" achieved the most weekly debut streams by a K-pop artist in 2024 with 34.78 million streams in its first week alone. The song is Jungkook's ninth song to reach 200 million streams, following Seven, Standing Next to You, Left and Right, 3D, Dreamers, Stay Alive, Still With You, and Yes or No.

With this, including 'Euphoria' and 'Time difference' from BTS' albums, Jungkook's total of songs with 200 million streams has increased to 11.

'Never Let Go' caused a global sensation, reaching No. 12 on Billboard's Global (excluding the US) chart, No. 20 on the Global 200 chart, No. 60 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, and No. 1 on the Download Chart. The genre limitation of being a fan song was no obstacle to Jungkook's global power.

Jungkook is the first Asian solo artist to have three songs with over 1 billion streams, and the first K-pop solo artist to have 20 songs with over 100 million streams. He's added another billion streams from his personal Spotify account this year alone, bringing his total cumulative streams to over 9 billion.

This is the fastest record among K-pop artists, and an unprecedented record among solo artists in all of Asia. In fact, Jungkook achieved new world records in the history of Spotify, such as the most streams in a single week (89,748,171 times), the fastest time to reach 100 million streams, and the fastest time to reach 1 billion streams through "Seven," and was officially registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Jungkook's solo debut song 'Seven' has been on the Spotify Weekly Top Songs Global Chart for 102 consecutive weeks to date. His first solo album 'GOLDEN' has also been on the Weekly Top Albums Global Chart for 86 consecutive weeks. This is the first and longest-running record for an Asian solo artist's album.
