BTS' J-Hope, who completed his military service in Wonju, is a hot topic for visiting Wonju again after 8 months of being discharged.

J-Hope (real name Jung Hoseok) recently visited the Baekho New Recruit Training Battalion of the 36th Infantry Division in Wonju, where he served during his active duty, and met with his comrades and active-duty officers to celebrate '2025 Homecoming Day.'

Those who attended the event also had time to bury a time capsule under a monument with the words, “We remember the passionate youth and the time we spent nurturing the army together under the name of Baekho, and we enshrine it here.” The time capsule is scheduled to be reopened on June 29, 2035.

After the event, as J-Hope's photos spread through online communities and SNS, fans and netizens showed enthusiastic reactions such as, "It's impressive that he took the time to visit Wonju," "He is the loyal instructor Jung Ho-seok," and "I didn't know there was an event like this in the military."

J-Hope, who enlisted in the army in April 2023 and served as an instructor here, was discharged on October 17th of last year. He attracted attention for his exemplary military life, such as being selected as a special warrior and winning the grand prize in a military competition.

At the time of his discharge, J-Hope revealed special memories from Wonju, saying, "During my 1 year and 6 months of military service, I felt an indescribable warm emotion from the citizens of Wonju who greeted and cheered for the soldiers whenever I met them."
