(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Choi Joo-seong = BTS' song 'Spring Day' was named to the list of 'Best Songs of the 21st Century' selected by American music magazine Rolling Stone.
Rolling Stone ranked BTS's "Spring Day" 37th on the list of "The 250 Greatest Songs of the 21st Century So Far," released on its official website on the 8th (local time).
Rolling Stone said, "'Spring Day' is the signature song of BTS, one of the biggest pop groups of the 21st century," and added, "The emotions of recovery and hope blooming in the midst of loss resonated transcendently, and soon led to BTS's global rise."
"Spring Day" is the title track of BTS's second full-length repackaged album "YOU NEVER WALK ALONE," released in 2017. It received much love, becoming the first song to surpass 1 billion cumulative streams on the music streaming platform Melon.
The list released by Rolling Stone also included songs by K-pop girl groups such as BTS, Blackpink, Girls' Generation, and New Jeans.
BLACKPINK ranked 142nd with their hit song "DDU-DU DDU-DU" released in 2018.
Rolling Stone described 'Ddu-du Ddu-du' as "the song that best represents the K-pop craze that took place in America in the 2010s."
Girls' Generation ranked 170th with "Gee," and New Jeans' "Hype Boy" ranked 206th.
Beyoncé took third place with "Crazy in Love," while pop stars Britney Spears and Taylor Swift also entered the top 10. The top spot went to rapper Missy Elliott's "Get Ur Freak On."
Congratulations on being ranked 37th on Rolling Stone's "Best Songs of the 21st Century."
