Have you guys watched Netflix's 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class Wars'? I was really hooked watching this season, and the person who impressed me the most was Chef Taehoon Lim, the 'Iron Bag Chef'!
His life story is so amazing and touching that I really wanted to introduce it to you.
From a black spoon past to an iron bag chef
Chef Im Tae-hoon grew up in an orphanage as a child and lived with his grandmother, delivering newspapers, handing out flyers, and even delivering food since he was in elementary school. He then became interested in cooking and eventually became a successful Chinese chef! His nickname, “Iron Bag Chef,” also started when he was working as a delivery man at a Chinese restaurant.
As seen on Netflix, the Iron Bag Chef overcame hardships and succeeded as a chef, which was really cool. Hearing about how rewarding it is to see customers cleanly finish the food he cooked himself, I was touched too.
Chef Im Tae-hoon's restaurant 'Doryang' location, reservation method
The Chinese restaurant 'Doryang' located in Jahamun-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul is run directly by Chef Im Tae-hoon! Here, you can taste hot pot and Korean-style Chinese cuisine, and just looking at the pictures makes my mouth water...🤤

The location is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of 6 Jahamun-ro 6-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul! Doryang is a place where you can taste dishes made with sincerity by a single chef, so I definitely want to go there!
Chef Im Tae-hoon's Instagram account is also very active! You can see everything from cooking photos to his daily life, and especially when you look at the menus from Doryang, it feels like healing for your eyes. I like the posts because they show his passion for cooking!
