[All] Military Manpower Administration Begins Investigation into Song Min-ho's 'Suspicions of Bad Service'

The Military Manpower Administration has begun investigating allegations that singer Song Min-ho performed improper military service.

An official from the Military Manpower Administration told Sports Seoul on the 17th, “After the Song Min-ho report came out, the relevant department began investigating the ‘allegations of work falsification.’ We are currently looking into the facts.”

He then explained, “If the news reports from this morning turn out to be true, they could be punished according to the Social Service Workers Act.”

According to the Social Service Agent Service Management Manual, annual leave is granted for 15 days if less than 1 year has passed since the date of call-up, and 16 days if more than 1 year has passed, giving a total of 31 days of annual leave and 30 days of sick leave during the period of service.

When using annual leave, sick leave, substitute leave, and vacation leave cannot be mixed with annual leave, and stepping stone annual leave cannot be used separately. However, whether to use annual leave or go to work on the date of discharge from service can be decided at the discretion of the social service worker. If this is violated, the social service worker may be subject to a warning and extended service penalty.

On this day, Dispatch reported that Song Min-ho was not properly going to work at Mapo Community Service Facility where he was working as a social worker. The report alleged that Song Min-ho had been manipulating his attendance at work, saying that after he moved to Mapo Community Service Facility in March, he occasionally showed up to sign in and then disappeared.

Regarding this, Song Min-ho's agency YG Entertainment stated, "It is difficult to confirm the details regarding the artist's military service," but explained, "However, he used his sick leave and vacation according to the regulations, and the reason was that it was an extension of the treatment he was receiving before his military service."
